MPU Courses for Undergraduate Studies

The General Studies/Mata Pelajaran Umum (MPU) is a compulsory qualification for all Malaysian and international undergraduate students in higher education institutions. Introduced by the Ministry of Higher Education on 1 September 2013 under the Private Higher Education Act 1996, MPU aims to foster nation-building, broaden knowledge about Malaysia, and develop soft skills like teamwork and communication. It is required for obtaining an undergraduate degree but does not apply to Foundation, master's, or Doctoral students.

All undergraduate degree students are required to complete a minimum of 11 credits of MPU modules to graduate with the General Studies/MPU qualification and to fulfil the minimum credit requirements of undergraduate programmes at AWLUC.
