Dr. Habsah is an accomplished library and information services professional with extensive experience in developing inclusive technologies and leading library service innovations. As Team Coordinator, she pioneered the first Bahasa Melayu Print-to-Braille Conversion Software in 1992, a groundbreaking pilot project that enabled the production of computerized Braille textbooks and reading materials for the blind in Malaysia. Under the sponsorship of the Japan Braille Library and in collaboration with the National Library of Malaysia, Dr. Habsah trained special education teachers and members of the blind community to adopt computerized Braille production.

At Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), she headed several key library divisions including Reference and Research, Training, Malaysiana & Archives, Customer Relations, and Reprographic Services. Beyond library leadership, Dr. Habsah served as a certified trainer in MS ISO Quality Standards and Internal Quality Audits, both within and outside USM, and contributed as a part-time trainer for the university’s Training Division and Registrar’s Office through programs such as PIMPIN (Leadership), covering client services and negotiation skills.

A strong advocate for assistive technology, Dr. Habsah also introduced voice synthesis tools to support accessibility for the blind. In addition, she has produced and presented numerous papers at national and international conferences and seminars, further contributing to the advancement of library services and inclusive education.
