Jasmine Selvarani Emmanuel has 42 years of academic experience in the public and private education sectors, including 20 years in Open Distance Learning. She was the Head of the Centre for Foundation Studies and Deputy Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Deputy Dean, School of Foundation and Liberal Studies at Wawasan Open University (WOU). Before that, she served as Deputy Vice-President (Academic Affairs) and Head of the School of English and Pre-University/Compulsory Studies at Disted-Stamford College, Penang.
Her initial career was in secondary education, and she was the Head of the English Language Department at a fully residential school. Additionally, she served as English Language Resource personnel at both state and national levels, working with the National Curriculum Development Centre and the Schools Division (Ministry of Education) as a curriculum Trainer.
Jasmine has authored course modules, books, and articles and developed curriculum packages for English language teaching, workplace communication, and soft skills training for both corporate and public sector participants.Her research interests include open distance learning, adult education, open educational resources, and communication skills. She is also a Train-The-Trainer (TTT) -certified HRD Corp trainer.
