Professor Dr. Sushila Krishnaswamy-Chang Honoured with Tatler Award2026 for Education 2026

Asian Women’s Leadership University College (AWLUC) proudly celebrates a defining milestone as its Vice-Chancellor and CEO, Professor Dr. Sushila Krishnaswamy-Chang, is recognised with the prestigious Tatler Award for Education, a testament to her visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to advancing women’s education.

Established in 2022, AWLUC is Southeast Asia’s first not-for-profit women’s liberal arts and sciences university, inspired by the United States’ historic Seven Sisters colleges and driven by a bold mission to cultivate women leaders with interdisciplinary knowledge, critical thinking, and a global outlook. This vision is deeply rooted in Professor Sushila’s own journey of resilience, growing up in a low-income immigrant family with limited access to education, which shaped her lifelong commitment to expanding opportunities for women and addressing systemic inequalities. Her international career has further reinforced her belief that while women play vital roles in leadership, decision-making, and community-building, they remain underrepresented in positions of influence, making education a powerful foundation for equity, leadership, and societal progress.

Through AWLUC, Professor Sushila is redefining higher education for women in the region by championing both academic excellence and the development of future-ready competencies such as problem-solving, communication, and systems thinking—equipping students to navigate and lead in an increasingly complex world. Complementing this vision, she is deeply committed to mentoring the next generation, personally guiding emerging women leaders who embody resilience, authenticity, and ethical purpose, and empowering them to drive meaningful, lasting change in their communities and beyond.

This Tatler Award is more than an individual accolade; it is a powerful recognition of a transformative vision—one that is reshaping the landscape of women’s education in Southeast Asia and building a future where women lead with confidence, courage, and conviction.
